The Wild Bunch
Photo taken at the John Swartz Studio, in Fort Worth, Texas, 1901. A copy of this photo
wa sent to the First National Bank in Winnemucca, Nevada, by Butch Cassidy, as a joke,
after they had robbed that bank of between $29,000 to $33,000 in gold and banknotes on
Sept. 19, 1901. Will Carver's jilted amorata, Lillie Davis, identified the group to the
William Pinkerton Detective Agency, to save herself from prosecution, as an accomplice to
the Wild Bunch.
