This was a Death Valley-Wells Fargo stage stop. Gold milled at Clair Camp to the east would be shipped from here.

The mill site at Clair Camp, just east from Ballarat, up the canyon. The mine shaft is at the top of the mill site.

Clair Camp was a family run mining camp. This is the family's home.

This big building was the Chinese cook house. They would cook all the camps meals. The cooks would sleep in the back. There were three rooms with dirt floors, in that section.========>
