Elko County is the largest gold producing county, in the U.S.

Ancient, geological, placer processes have spread low grade ores, over a two hundred square mile area.

High volume mines, with massive equipment, have made claims on hundreds of thousands of acres. 1872-Era, mining laws allow them to buy this land, from the BLM, for a bit over $5.00 per acre.
